Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Manipur 2023-24 is an initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to provide financial assistance to ST students of Class 9 and 10. The scholarship aims to support ST students and minimise the incidence of drop-out in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage of education. The selected students will receive a scholarship of up to ₹350 per month for 10 months and other benefits.

Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a domicile of Manipur
- belong to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category
- be studying in Class 9 or 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education
- have an annual parent(s)/guardian income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
- not be availing benefit under any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship
Benefits The selected students will receive the following benefits:-

Allowance Amount (in ₹) Monthly reader allowance for blind students 160 Monthly transport allowance for students with disabilities (if not residing in the hostel within the premises of the educational institution) 160 Monthly escort allowance for severely disabled (i.e. with 80% or higher disability) day scholars/students with low extremity disability 160 Monthly helper allowance admissible to any hostel employee assisting severely orthopedically handicapped students 160 Monthly coaching allowance for mentally retarded and mentally ill students 240 Note:- The disability as defined under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995) Act has to be certified by the competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration.
Documents - Domicile certificate
- A passport-size photograph of the student with the student’s signature
- Caste certificate duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO)
- Family income certificate (Note:– If self-employed, an income declaration affirming definite income from all sources through an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper)
- Receipt acknowledging the scholarship in the previous year (for renewal, if applicable)
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ link below.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to ‘Applicant Corner’ and click on the ‘New Registration’ tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the ‘Fresh Application’ tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill out the form correctly; no changes can be made once it is submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill out only one application, as multiple applications will cancel the form.
