The Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Post-Matric is a fantastic initiative by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, to support the education of children from families working in these specific sectors. Objective:
- Enable children from Beedi, Cinema, Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mines (IOMC), Limestone Mines, Dolomite Mines (LSDM), and Mica Mines workers to pursue higher education without financial constraints.
- Encourage these children to break free from the cycle of hazardous labor and improve their social and economic mobility.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be wards (sons/daughters/widowed daughters-in-law) of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers.
- Must have passed Class 10th examination from a recognized board.
- Pursuing studies in Class 11, 12, ITI, Polytechnic, Degree, Professional Courses, or B.Sc. Agriculture.
- Annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 6 Lakh.
Benefits:
- Financial assistance ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 25,000 per annum, depending on the course pursued.
- The scholarship amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
